Ms. Holland was born and raised in central Connecticut and has strong family ties. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Retail and Business Management from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI where she was named Who's Who Among Students in Colleges and Universities. She also earned a Master of Business and Tourism degree from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Ms. Holland earned her Master Etiquette Consultant certification from International Association of Professions Career College. Her business and hospitality experience spans some 40 years.
Ms. Holland is a woman of strong faith and integrity and believes in helping others. Community service is an integral part of her core values. As such, she served as the team registrar for the Durham Striders Track Club for more than 20 years and remains a part of their leadership team still today. She recently retired from Duke University & Health System after 28 years of continuous service. She has also been a youth mentor and volunteers in the community through her church, Grace Church of Durham, and civic organizations where she is a member of the Durham Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She was taught the importance of good manners, kindness and respect at an early age. She owes who she is today to the elders who instilled in her a strong and unwavering value system.
Ms. Holland was blessed with 2 incredible children (Vaughan and Sydney) and 2 amazing granddaughters (Savannah and Kynzley). She has the absolute best group of "sistah friends" in the universe and really enjoys spending time with them.
